Field Day 2013

The weather finally warmed up and was perfect for the 2nd and 3rd grade field day.  

 Beckham rode his Jeep to the school in an effort to carry of all our waters, snacks, baby needs, sunscreen, etc. 

 I spent a lot of time running after him trying to make sure he didn't take any students out!  

 
 Was able to grab a few shots of Grayson and Wesley with their classmates and friends.  Didn't do so good at getting any action shots of Grayson...and just a few of Wesley.  Grayson was happy that she won her leg of the 40 meter dash and both girls were tickled that the girls beat the boys in tug of war in both of their classes (always a big deal)!

...when a three year old boy gets ahold of your bright pink tulle...

...when you give a 7 month old the sticks from the electric beater...

Easter..a little late

Easter really snuck up on me this year.  I mean the Easter Bunny was well

 prepared but mommy wasn't.

  Glad that we once again had a chance to spend Easter day with my grandma.  I can remember ALWAYS spending Easter at her house and finding all the Easter bunny treasures hidden in her yard....and we have continued that tradition with our kids (although it is beginning to seem more like Christmas!!)

Apparently by this point we had ditched the Easter outfits and the Easter baskets for comfy clothes and Walmart bags!!

Lennon 7 months

Well, my sweet girl is actually almost 8 months here but I HAD to get the monthly pic with the onsie and the month on it!! 

 Been fighting the major snots and you hate to have your nose wiped!!!

 Your smile is the best...however, I truly couldn't capture the essence of your best smile with the camera...it comes only every great once and awhile and resembles a fat cheeked asian baby!!

Apparently you have figured out how to pull  yourself up in your crib
(just realized this today while taking your pic!!)

 Guess the crib mattress needs to go down soon!!

 These blues eyes and chubby cheeks just melt me!!

Rockin' the pink helmet like no one else can!  Love that it doesn't even phase you!  6 weeks down and LOTS more weeks to go!!

Mother's Day

 
Spent most of the day freshening up the flower beds and planting new bushes and trees.  The past few years ours have died or become overgrown so it was time for some much needed maintenance!  Thanks to my handy hubby who did all the manual labor (with a smile on his face, I might add!) 


                                     

Wrapped up the day hanging with all these fun girls!!  A great grandma, 2 grandmas, many moms and mom to be's one day!

Dancing Divas

 Wrapped up another great year of dance with the spring dance recital.

 The girls loved taking both tap and jazz and dazzled in their bright and colorful costumes.

 Lots of flowers and smiles with friends and cousin Aniston.

Losing Lex

Thursday brought an unexpected turn of events that led us to make the decision to let Lex cross over the Rainbow Bridge.  Apparently his spleen had ruptured suddenly that afternoon as he went into a seizure like state and was bleeding internally.  We knew our first "couple" dog was getting old but just weren't prepared to lose him yet.  

Lex was an ol' mix breed shelter dog...picked out just by Jake about 11 year ago (I can't go to the shelter or I think of all the animals longing for a family day after day).  He was much thinner, very timid and wouldn't even come in our house when Jake got him home.  Apparently his story was that he was an outside farm dog and the owner had died.  He was 1.5 years old when he became ours.  

Through the years he was a patient and kind soul that welcomed each new Zeka baby with great affection.  Each toddler took their turn riding in his back, pulling his tail and "petting" him as only toddlers can and each time he sat and took all their loving with such grace.  

We know that our human family is missing him so much...we miss the sounds of his jingling collar and his nails walking on the hard wood floor...but we think his furry friends might just miss him more.  

We love you Lex!!!

First Holy Communion

 Wesley celebrated her First Holy Communion the weekend of April.

 

An awesome day filled with friends, family, food and GOD!!!

After a nice (and LONG) dinner at Colbert's we came back to house for dessert (complete with Aunt Mandy's homemade ice cream sandwiches!)

Congrats Wesley!  We love you!!

Lennon is 7 months

Man how time flies...I was hoping to get professional pics of Lennon at 6 months but 7 months will have to do.  I don't think they could have been any cuter!  Thanks Jen!!

Lennon, you are truly a rock star.  You have are so happy and are finally taking more normal naps (I know, a little impossible when we have abnormal schedules).  You are now sporting a pink helmet 23 hours a day (pics to come) for your brachiocephaly and have adapted beautifully (although it makes you VERY sweaty!!)  Your eyes are the bluest of any of the kids (well and your legs are the chunkiest of all of them too!)  You do a great job sitting up on your own, roll over side to side and high center on your belly while attempting to crawl (please wait on that one!!)  Grayson loves to get you up in the morning when you wake up and you love to eat all orange veggies and any fruit.  Can't wait to see all the great things you will bring to this family throughout your life!
